What is Viewer Org?
Viewer Org is a local, read-only viewer for plain .org files. It is meant for people who keep tasks, notes, routines, projects or archives in Org-mode files and want a fast mobile/PWA view without uploading private data anywhere.
Use it as a companion to Emacs Org-mode, beorg and Plain Org: edit files in your normal editor, then open the same plain text files here for reading, agenda review, search and navigation.
What can it do?
Read large Org files: render headings, paragraphs, links, drawers, planning lines, tables, source blocks and quote blocks.
Navigate outlines: expand/collapse headings and jump from agenda/review rows back into document context.
Find information: search text, tags, TODO states and priorities; jump through matches; scope search to one subtree.
Build a daily agenda: collect SCHEDULED, DEADLINE and optional CLOSED items from selected file snapshots.
Review work: see recently closed tasks, overdue tails, waiting items, stuck projects and unscheduled actionable tasks.
Work offline: install as a PWA, reopen cached files, and keep app/cache state visible.
Stay read-only: Viewer Org does not edit or rewrite your files.
What is it not?
It is not an editor: there is no capture, edit, refiling or sync engine.
It is not a cloud service: files are not uploaded to a server.
It does not fully emulate Emacs Org-mode; complex recurrence expansion and every Org feature are intentionally out of scope for now.
Basics
Open file: use the floating + button. The viewer reads the selected file locally and keeps a browser cached text copy for quick reopen.
Doc / Agenda: use the top segmented control to switch between the document reader and the local agenda. You can select multiple files; Viewer Org keeps local cached snapshots and uploads nothing.

Document view
Outline: headings can be expanded/collapsed. TODO, priority and tags are shown inline without editing the file.
Overview: shows heading/task/tag counts and the loaded web build when you need diagnostics.
Tags: opens a per-file tag cloud. Tapping a tag applies tag search; Clear removes it.
Context: filtered results keep parent context and heading paths so nested matches are easier to locate.
Links: external links open in the browser; internal links jump inside the document; file links can open another org file.
Search
Text search: type plain text. Matches are highlighted, the counter shows current/total, and ↑/↓ jumps between matches.
Subtree search: after searching, use Search here on a heading to limit results to that section. Use All document to remove the scope.
Structured search: use #work or tag:work, todo:next, priority:a.
Clear: press ×, Esc in the search field, or the tag-cloud Clear action.
Agenda
Agenda shows scheduled/deadline headings from selected local file snapshots, including repeated beorg-style tasks without a TODO keyword. Completed CLOSED tasks are optional.
Controls / Filters: open compact spoilers when you need List/Review or filters.
Workflow presets: Today, Waiting, Overdue, Review, Completed history and priority-focused Today presets.
Agenda range: choose Due, This week, This + next week, Next 7/14/30 days or All open.
Quick filters: filter by TODO state, text or #tag. Use Reset to clear agenda filters.
Priority workflows: use Priority A/B/C Today presets or priority:a search when you need focused priority review.
Open task: tap a row to jump to its heading. Back returns to the previous list/search context.
Triage
Overdue: decide whether to do it, reschedule with a reason, or cancel it.
Waiting: follow up, keep waiting, or close the task.
Stuck projects: only headings explicitly marked :PROJECT: or with a progress cookie such as [/]/[0/3]. A scheduled open action today or later counts as a defined next action.
No scheduled date: schedule it, move it to backlog, or remove it. Repeated reschedules: remove the cause, not only the date.
Summary
Periods: switch between 7d, 30d and This year.
Metrics and sections: Completions, Unique tasks, Closed overdue and recently closed task history.
Files / iCloud workflow
Use the floating + button to open a user-selected .org file from Files, iCloud Drive, beorg or Plain Org exports.
Recent files reopen a browser-cached text copy for speed; use Open .org file again when the source file changed.
Safari/iOS does not give this PWA a permanent live file handle, so reopening from cache is not the same as syncing from iCloud.
beorg / Plain Org habits
SCHEDULED, DEADLINE and optional CLOSED planning lines are the agenda source of truth.
Scheduled headings without TODO are included for beorg-style daily habits and routines.
Repeater cookies such as +1d are preserved in the source line; recurrence expansion is not implemented.
The viewer does not write proprietary metadata back to your plain .org files.
Report diagnostics
Use Settings → Support → Export diagnostics to create a JSON report with version, browser, settings summary and counts. It does not include Org file content or file names.
Privacy
All files stay in your browser. The web viewer never uploads your .org files to any server. There is no analytics or telemetry by default.
Multi-file agenda remains local-only: only user-selected files, browser cached snapshots, visible source labels, stale cached-source warnings, and clear cached data controls. Reopen files to refresh changed iCloud/Files exports.

Cache / Updates
App shell cache stores the viewer itself. Cached org file is the last file copy saved in this browser for quick reopen. If UI updates look inconsistent, verify the version below, reload app shell, then clear site data if needed.
Installed PWA
Installed mode: Browser tab. Add to Home Screen for a standalone app-like view; app icon badge remains optional and falls back gracefully when unsupported.

Теги: открывает tag cloud текущего файла. Tap по тегу включает tag search; Сбросить убирает его.
Контекст: filtered results сохраняют parent context и heading paths для вложенных совпадений.
Ссылки: external открываются в браузере; internal прыгают внутри документа; file links могут открыть другой org-файл.
Поиск
Text search: введи текст. Matches подсвечиваются, счётчик показывает current/total, ↑/↓ переходят между совпадениями.
Subtree search: после поиска нажми Искать здесь на heading, чтобы ограничить результаты этим разделом. Весь документ сбрасывает область.
Structured search:#work или tag:work, todo:next, priority:a.
Сброс: нажми ×, Esc в поле поиска или Clear рядом с tag cloud.

Agenda показывает scheduled/deadline headings из выбранных локальных snapshots, включая beorg-style повторяющиеся задачи без TODO keyword. Завершённые CLOSED задачи опциональны.

Cache / Updates
App shell cache хранит сам viewer. Cached org file — последняя копия файла в браузере для quick reopen. Если UI выглядит старым, проверь версию ниже, обнови app shell, затем при необходимости очисти site data.

Режим запуска: Browser tab. Добавь на Home Screen для standalone app-like режима; app icon badge optional и gracefully falls back, если не поддержан.
